Altern User Account

Anyone with a Google or GitHub account can sign up for Altern. Creating an account is free and takes just a few seconds.

Signing in gives you a better experience and unlocks features that are only available to logged-in users.

What you can do when signed in

Save AIs

Save any AI you like so you can easily find it later. Your saved tools stay in one place and grow into a personal collection over time.

Write reviews

Share your experience with an AI. Reviews help other people understand what a tool is actually like in real use.

Public profile

Every user gets a public profile (for example altern.ai/@dariubs). It’s a simple page that shows your activity and the tools you care about.

Submit AIs

Found or built something useful? You can submit AI tools, agents, models, and more so other people can discover them.

Join an AI’s team

If you work on or represent an AI product, you can become part of its team on Altern. This helps keep the listing accurate and up to date.

Suggest alternatives

You can suggest new alternatives for any tool, or recommend removing ones that no longer make sense. This keeps the alternatives section useful for everyone.

Create lists

Build your own collections of AI tools. Lists are a great way to group tools by theme, project, or interest — and share them with others.

Create tasks

Add tasks that describe real jobs people need to get done. This helps others find the right AI based on what they actually want to accomplish, not just by product name.

Getting started

Just click Sign in and choose Google or GitHub. Your account is created automatically the first time you sign in. From there you can start saving tools, writing reviews, creating lists, and exploring everything else that comes with having an account.
