By using Altern ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
Altern is a directory for discovering AI tools, models, and APIs. We list AIs submitted by their makers and curated by our team. We don't build, operate, or control the third-party AI products listed here, and listing a product isn't an endorsement or guarantee of its quality, safety, or accuracy.
You can sign in with GitHub or Google. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be able to legally agree to these terms to create an account.
If you submit a listing through the Maker area, you confirm that you have the right to share the information you provide and that it's accurate to the best of your knowledge. We review submissions before they go live and may approve, reject, or remove any listing at our discretion, including listings that are misleading, spammy, or violate these terms.
Some listing tiers are paid, processed via PayPal. Fees are for the listing service itself, not a guarantee of traffic, ranking, or approval.
Don't use Altern to submit false or misleading information, scrape or bulk-harvest content beyond fair use, attempt to compromise the security of the site, or use the service for anything unlawful.
Altern's branding, design, and original written content are ours. Logos, screenshots, and descriptions of listed AIs remain the property of their respective owners; we display them under fair use for informational and discovery purposes and will remove content on request from a rights holder.
Altern links to external websites and services we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, availability, or practices — review their own terms and privacy policies before using them.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep listings accurate and the site available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Altern won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on any listed AI.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Altern after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
