Deliverability-focused transactional email infrastructure for developers
SocketLabs leans harder into deliverability as a service than most names on this list: less an API and a shrug, more an API plus a team that will actually look at your sending patterns and tell you why your open rates dropped last month. It's been around for a long time without the acquisition history that's reshaped Mailjet, Mailgun, and Postmark, which has let it build a smaller but more specialized reputation, particularly with companies that got burned badly enough by a deliverability problem elsewhere that they went looking for a provider that treats it as a core feature instead of an afterthought.
None of this involves AI. What it involves is detailed analytics on where your email is actually landing, proactive monitoring that flags reputation problems before they tank your inbox placement, and support that's generally reported as more responsive than the bigger, more anonymous providers. It's not the cheapest option here, and it doesn't have the brand recognition of SendGrid or the price-per-email appeal of ZeptoMail, but for a team that has already been through a real deliverability crisis and doesn't want to repeat the experience, the extra attention can be worth paying for.
