Budget email API combining transactional sending and marketing campaigns
Elastic Email has built its whole identity around being the budget option, the one you reach for when SendGrid's pricing calculator makes your eyes water and you don't actually need everything SendGrid offers. It's been in the transactional and bulk email business for a long time, and unlike Postmark or ZeptoMail it doesn't draw a hard line between transactional and marketing traffic. Both flow through the same account, which is either a convenience or a red flag depending on how disciplined you are about not letting a bad campaign hurt your password reset emails.
It's a non-AI service, and the tradeoff for the lower price is polish more than intelligence. The dashboard looks like it hasn't been redesigned as often as its competitors', the documentation occasionally lags behind the actual API, and support response times get mixed reviews depending on which plan you're on. None of that stops it from having a loyal base of price-sensitive customers, particularly bulk senders who care more about cost per thousand emails than a beautiful interface. If your priority is keeping the bill low and you're willing to do a bit more of the deliverability hygiene work yourself, it's worth a look. If you'd rather the vendor handle that thinking for you, you'll probably end up paying more elsewhere.
