About

Suno turns short text prompts into full songs, complete with vocals, instruments, and finished production, and it remains the most widely used AI music generator by a large margin, with tens of millions of people using it to make tracks in seconds. Users type a genre, mood, or scene description and get back a radio-ready song, and the app supports extending, remixing, and refining tracks, plus mobile apps for generating and listening on the go. It's used by hobbyists making novelty songs, independent creators scoring videos and podcasts, and musicians sketching out ideas quickly.

The company is also at the center of the AI music industry's defining legal fight. Universal, Sony, and Warner sued Suno in 2024 over the copyrighted recordings used to train its models. Warner settled and signed a licensing deal with Suno in November 2025, but Sony and Universal are still litigating, with the case expanding to cover more than 61,000 recordings and a summary judgment hearing set for July 2026. A German court has separately ruled against Suno in a case brought by the collecting society GEMA, finding it breached copyright law by training on GEMA's catalog. The amended U.S. complaint also adds DMCA circumvention claims, alleging Suno sourced training data by stream-ripping YouTube. The outcome of these cases will likely determine what licensing AI music tools need going forward, and Suno's partial settlement with Warner suggests licensing deals, rather than a single court ruling, may end up shaping the industry's path.

Switched over from a competitor a few weeks ago. Mixing quality is better than I expected for something generated.

Limited style options compared to what I hoped for. Vocal quality still sounds a bit synthetic on longer tracks.

Mixing quality is better than I expected for something generated. The output actually sounds like a real track, not a demo loop.

Nothing groundbreaking, just reliable. Vocal quality still sounds a bit synthetic on longer tracks.

Been using this for about a few weeks. Got a usable jingle done in an evening. Mixing quality is better than I expected for something generated.

Tried it after a coworker recommended it. The output actually sounds like a real track, not a demo loop. Limited style options compared to what I hoped for.

Picked this up for a side project and kept using it. The output actually sounds like a real track, not a demo loop.
