MonkeyLearn is a no-code text analytics platform that lets businesses build custom sentiment analysis, topic classification, keyword extraction, and intent detection models without writing machine learning code. Users train models on their own labeled examples through a visual interface, then run text through pre-built or custom classifiers via an API, SDKs for Python, Node, Ruby, Java, and PHP, or direct connections to tools like Zapier, Google Sheets, and Zendesk. It was aimed at customer support, CX, and ops teams that needed to sort large volumes of tickets, reviews, and survey responses into categories automatically instead of tagging them by hand.

Medallia acquired MonkeyLearn in 2022 and has since folded its text analytics into the Medallia Experience Cloud rather than keeping it running as an independent product; the monkeylearn.com domain now redirects straight to Medallia's site. Before the acquisition, MonkeyLearn's appeal was that a non-technical analyst could build and retrain a working classifier in a few hours using their own taxonomy, without hiring a data scientist or renting GPU infrastructure, which made it a common choice for small teams doing voice-of-customer analysis.

Its niche was the middle ground between generic NLP APIs from big cloud providers and expensive enterprise voice-of-customer suites: cheaper and easier to customize than the former's raw output, more affordable and self-serve than the latter's full consulting-driven deployments.
