Microsoft Aurora

Aurora is Microsoft's open foundation model for forecasting the Earth system. Specialized checkpoints predict medium- and high-resolution weather, air pollution, ocean waves, tropical cyclones, and other atmospheric variables, with newer Aurora 1.5 models adding hourly lead times, expanded surface fields, and probabilistic ensembles. Microsoft publishes the Python package, model weights, documentation, and example workflows for research and adaptation to new forecasting tasks.
