Manus

Manus, from Chinese startup Butterfly Effect (formerly Monica), autonomously executes multi-step tasks — web research, data analysis, code writing — in a sandboxed cloud environment with its own browser, code interpreter, and file system, without needing the task broken down for it first. Its invite-only early 2025 launch generated enormous attention as one of the first widely demonstrated agents capable of real-world task completion end to end, and it's since opened up more broadly as competition in the agent space has intensified.
