Lemonade underwrites renters, home, car, and pet insurance with machine learning and can pay simple claims in under three minutes through an AI claims bot, with no paperwork or phone call required. It runs on a flat-fee model and donates unclaimed premiums to charities customers choose, which is meant to remove the profit motive an insurer would otherwise have in denying claims.
