AWS's spec-driven agentic IDE
Kiro treats a written spec, not a chat prompt, as the actual unit of work — the agent plans a feature, writes design and data-flow docs, then implements, tests, and documents it end to end. It ships as both a desktop app and a CLI, supports Open VSX extensions and VS Code settings import, and doesn't require an AWS account to try, which is a notably low-friction entry point for an AWS product.
