Upload PDFs and DOCX, get a chatbot that cites its sources
DocChat turns a pile of PDFs, DOCX files and plain text into a chat assistant that answers from those files — and shows its work. Every reply comes with the source document and the passage behind it, so anyone reading the answer can check it instead of taking it on faith.
You upload the files and DocChat handles the rest: it extracts the text, splits it into chunks, builds a vector index, then answers each question by retrieving the most relevant passages first. There's no pipeline to assemble, no vector database to run, no chunk size to tune. When you want it in front of other people, one script tag adds the widget to your site, with your colours and position. Widgets on the free plan carry a small "Powered by DocChat" credit — that goes away at $29/month.
The limits are honest ones. Scanned or image-only PDFs have no text layer, so they won't index. DocChat doesn't browse the web or answer from memory — when something isn't in your documents, it says it couldn't find it.
Free covers 1 chatbot, 10 documents and 100 messages a month, no card required. Pro is $29/month or $288/year for 5 chatbots and 2,000 messages. Business is $99/month with no cap on documents or messages.
