Convex

Convex is a backend platform where you write queries and mutations in TypeScript and the database keeps clients in sync automatically. Update a row and every subscribed page updates, with no manual websocket code.

It bundles the database, server functions, file storage, scheduling and vector search in one product. That makes it a favorite for AI apps built quickly with coding agents, since the data model lives in plain TypeScript.

The trade-off is that you are using its document-relational model instead of plain SQL. For real-time apps and fast prototypes that is often a good trade.
