Codacy scans your repositories for bugs, style problems, security issues and duplicated code, then reports the results on pull requests. It supports dozens of languages and plugs into GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket. Teams use it to set quality gates so risky code does not merge unnoticed.

More recently it has added AI features, including help fixing issues and guardrails for code written by AI assistants. That matters because generated code tends to arrive faster than anyone can review it.

It works best as a background checker with rules tuned to your team. Without tuning, the number of warnings on an older codebase can feel overwhelming.
