Cline is an open-source VS Code extension that gives an LLM the ability to autonomously create and edit files, run terminal commands, and browse the web to complete a multi-step coding task, rather than just suggesting the next line. It's grown into one of the most popular open-source AI coding tools specifically for work that spans more than a single file — the kind of task a normal autocomplete tool can't really touch.
