Natural‑language shell command generator and executor powered by AI

cmd‑ai is an open‑source command‑line tool that translates plain English prompts into executable shell commands. Designed with built‑in safety filters and explanation features, it allows users to “ai list all running Docker containers” or “ai remove all .DS_Store files recursively,” executing with caution and transparency. Every AI‑generated command is logged (with timestamp and exit status) in ~/.ai‑command‑history.json and supports autocompletion. Maintained by Broda Noel under an MIT license, cmd‑ai currently has around 22 stars on GitHub and seven forks. It’s still under active development, with open issues tracking enhancements such as AI‑model swapping and XDG‑compliance. Community feedback highlights that it's a single‑file script with basic structured safety filters, with opportunities to improve error‑handling and modularity.
